Global warming Climate change Carbon credits

Global warming is a reality. We are all contributors, the energy we use each day comes from the burning of fossil fuels which releases co2(greenhouse gases) into the atmosphere. Transport alone accounts for around 20% of total emissions.

We can all take steps to reduce the impact we have on global warming by using more energy efficient products, by using less power, turning electrical appliances off instead of leaving them on standby, walk more drive less, buy local produce to name a few.

This does help but the reality is that to really make a difference we all need to do more, much more.

One of the most effective ways you can make a difference is through the purchase of Carbon Credits.

Each carbon credit you purchase guarantees the removal of "One tonne" of green house gases from our atmosphere.

As individuals we generate approximately 24 tonnes of co2 each year, this takes into account both power waste and transport. In order to really make a difference all we have to do is purchase 24 carbon credits each year to offset the impact we have on global warming.

Carbon credits are provided by government, commercial & private enterprises who have invested in projects which either remove or decrease the level of carbon emissions. The most common and effective of these is through re-forestation and the planting of more trees.

Trees absorb co2 from the atmosphere and store it as a solid, the majority of which remains in this stored state until such time as the tree is harvested.

One carbon credit equates to the planting of 5 trees, this varies depending on the types of trees planted. In order to offset the impact you have on global warming you would need to plant about 120 trees each year.

For most people this simply isn't possible. The only real option is through the purchase of carbon credits

Global waming is a reality. Offset the impact you have on climate change through the purchase of carbon credits today.
