What causes Global Warming
Global warming occurs as a result of a higher than normal accumulation of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere which prevents heat escaping into space. This causes an overall increase in global temperatures which brings about a change in our climate and weather patterns.
Scientists believe that global warming is responsible for the increase in erratic weather conditions, wild storms,cyclones,flooding etc hat we have been experiencing over the past few years.
Global warming does occur naturally as part of the earths normal process. What is of concern though is the increasing level of greenhouse gas emissions which occur as a direct result of human activity.
We are all contributors to global warming, the power we use each day, the transport and even the waste is produced through the burning of fossil fuels such as oil and coal.
According to authorities "transport" is one of the main contributors of greenhouse emissions.
From the time we wake to the time we go to sleep we all use energy:
Electric alarm clock
Switch on a light
Boil the jug
Run the shower
Cook breakfast
Air-conditioning
Drive to work
Check emails
Buying groceries
Cooking dinner
Watching TV
